What is true today
Solanto is a clinical note product, and it is early. This page is the list of what we can back, what we cannot, and who else touches the data. Where we cannot back a sentence, we do not print it.
No form on this page. Nothing to sign up for.
Why this page exists
Solanto will sit in the room for a patient visit. A product like that should be able to show its work.
Most pages like this one print badges. There is no certificate for the U.S. health privacy law. Nobody can hand you one, and neither can we.
So this page does the only other useful thing. It says what we have checked, what we have not, and the date we checked it.
If another page on this site says more than this one, this page is right.
What Solanto is
Solanto is being built to transcribe the visit and draft a note. You will review the note and decide what to keep.
It is designed with two modes. Only one is built.
Cloud mode
While you record, the audio will be sent over the internet to be transcribed. The Solanto Mac app is built to record in Cloud mode only.
Most of this page is about this mode, because this is the mode where other companies are involved.
Private Mode
Private Mode has one rule, and the rule is the whole point.
A note made in Private Mode stays on the device, never syncs.
Private Mode is not in any build today. No shipping app can make a Private note.
When it ships, this page will say so, with the date and with the check behind it.
What Solanto does not do
Solanto does not connect to any records system. There is no integration to any other system today.
Solanto does not write into your other software. You will move the note across yourself.
Who else touches the data
In Cloud mode, the audio and the text will leave the device. Companies that are not Solanto will handle them on the way.
The contract that covers that is a Business Associate Agreement, or BAA. Under the U.S. health privacy law, a vendor signs one before it may handle patient data on our behalf.
Here is where each one stands, as our own records show it.
Amazon Web Services
Runs the servers and the database behind Cloud mode.
BAA: Not signed. It is ours to accept, and we have not accepted it.
Deepgram
Turns speech into text while you record.
BAA: Unconfirmed. One of our records says signed in August 2026; another says the request is still open. Until we confirm it, treat it as not signed.
OpenAI
Runs the models that write the note.
BAA: Not signed. Asked for, not confirmed.
OpenRouter
Routes model calls on the path that writes the note in the current build.
BAA: Not signed. It does not offer one.
Qdrant
Holds the search index for transcripts and notes.
BAA: Not signed.
PostHog
Product analytics. It should not receive patient data.
BAA: Not signed. We have not published a check that proves it receives none.

No BAA is confirmed with any vendor today.
One of those vendors routes model calls on the path that writes the note, and it does not offer an agreement. Moving that off is the first thing on the list.
If a signed BAA is a condition of the software you use, Solanto is not ready for your patient visits yet. We would rather say that here than after you sign up.
What is not true yet
Every item below is a gap. Each one says what would have to change.
No confirmed agreement with any vendor
Today: No BAA is confirmed with any vendor.
What would change it: Each vendor signs. The list above changes, with the date it changed.
A vendor with no agreement is on the note path
Today: The calls that write the note are routed through a vendor that offers us no agreement.
What would change it: That path moves to a vendor that has signed. Until it does, the list above says so.
Private Mode is not in a shipping app
Today: The Solanto Mac app is built to record in Cloud mode only. No app can make a Private note.
What would change it: Private Mode ships, and we publish the check that shows a Private note never leaves the device.
Nothing here has been through an outside assessment
Today: No outside firm has looked at any of this. Every check behind this page is our own.
What would change it: An outside assessment, once there is something stable to assess. The result gets a line here, good or bad.
There is no Solanto app to download
Today: No Solanto build is on the App Store, and none can be downloaded from this site.
What would change it: A signed Mac build and an App Store release. Both get a date on this page.
This page does not describe how data is protected or how long it is kept
Today: We have no check we can stand behind on either, so we say nothing about either.
What would change it: A check that names the code and can be run again. Then one line here, with the date.
Parts of this site still say more than this page
Today: Some pages were written before this one. We are cutting them back to what this page supports.
What would change it: They get cut back. If you find one first, tell us and we will name it here.
How we keep this page true
Inside Solanto, a sentence about privacy, storage or where data goes has to name the code that makes it true before it may appear in the product or on this site. No proof, no sentence.
That list is checked again every month, and again whenever the way data moves changes.
